The ABM team at London Heathrow Airport began their new direct contract on 1st September, providing cabin clean services including Toilet and Water.
We presented 3 team members with some recognition for their overall professionalism and team spirit in recent months. Members of ABM's Armed Forces Group Chris Horrocks and Bobby Thomson-O'Connor attended the event at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall. Thank you to the Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association for Greater London for a fantastic event.

The team stripped down old pallets and used soil donations from customers. Plants that were destined for landfill were nursed back to health and there are now 12 planters on site under the care of Bernie Anderson. Next, the team hopes to introduce beehives! Thank you for making a difference!
Rhett Workman, American Airlines European Regional Director provided pizza for all the AA LHR cabin and security staff as a thank you all their hard work this summer. Well done to the whole team, keep up the hard work!
Last week, SVP & President for UK & Ireland, Richard Sykes, visited the Bullring site to see first hand the great work our technical team is doing there. Technical Contracts Manager Matthew McCoy introduced him to team members as well as the famous bronze bull - an iconic fixture in Birmingham city centre since 2003.
TfL have opened their Green Journey installation - part of the Climate Crossroads programme - at the TfL Museum, featuring ABM Team Member Katrina Hazell as one of their climate change superhero's. We're very proud of you Katrina!
Our Critical Solutions team offers everything customers need to avoid unplanned and costly downtime within critical infrastructure systems. Working with Dornan Engineering on a significant contract in Belgium, this award is based on a point system across all contractors on site with our team achieving the highest accolade.

The ABM team at London Heathrow Airport began their new direct contract on 14th July, providing cabin clean services.
ABM’s Cabin Service and resilience capabilities at LHR were demonstrated when the teams responded to Singapore Airlines needs and serviced two A380’s concurrently (normally adjacent tasks when on schedule) for two days in a row. Bradley Singleton will complete his CHI work placement with us on Friday 21st July, having joined us in September 2022. CHI (Classroom in the Heart of Industry) is an employment and education training programme for 16-19-year olds. Now his time with CHI is over, he’s a fully fledged ABM employee, and we're so proud of him.
The team offered their labour for the day, to provide much needed support, carrying out duties such as Fence painting, Pavement cleaning, Erecting a large Marquee for children to attend a garden party and Pond Cleaning. Great work team!
On 5th July 2023 the team took part in the charity row event in the departure lounge, helping to row the distance to the Isle of man (and back!) to raise funds for Alder Hey. Alex Henshaw, Contract manager; Holly Roscoe, Ambulift driver; Colin Munn, Customer care agent and Abby Johns Customer care agent took part. Well done!
A group of ABM team members attended London Pride 2023. We hope everyone who went to the event had a wonderful day!
We are proud of all our ABM UK team who were asked to clean the Transport for London train that was then beautifully decorated for London Pride 2023. Verona Pentony is volunteering with the power lifting teams at the event all week. The Special Olympics was founded in 1968 and strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people. We're so proud of Verona!
Craig Brady and Mel Wormhald are pictured with Roger Wolens Founder/CEO The Green Organisation, collecting a Green World Ambassador award, a Silver Winner International Excellence Award and a Global Bronze Winner Green World Award for Property Management Sustainability. What an incredible achievement!
World Refill Day is a global awareness campaign to prevent plastic pollution and help people live with less waste. In support of the campaign, 950 refillable bottles or cups were given to team members across Scotland. The leadership team also bought 150 coffees for customers at coffee shops who purchased coffees in reusable cups across a variety of sites.
ABM are delighted to partner with PM+U to deliver the services provision to 4 Scotland retail locations including Waverley Market & Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre. We commit to recruiting both veterans and serving armed forces personnel to work at ABM across all our lines of business and to support them in their working life as our Team Members.
The ABM team at the site in Dartford celebrated with a Staff Appreciation Day. Well done to the team for keeping the site at the top level of standard and cleanliness delivering the highest customer service.
Matthew Bowkett was nominated for undertaking some fantastic work populating a full customer asset list and asset tagging, whilst continuing to carry out his day to day duties. He has been working with key stakeholders with ABM and customer representatives in the U.S. to complete this task. Matt has gone over and above to complete this task.
Richard visited the site with David Donovan (Divisional Director, ABM UK) and met Dima Tucheva (supervisor) and Tatiana Javed, who has been raising a garden on site growing Raspberries, Tomatoes and strawberries. Thanks to the team for the warm welcome.
ABM supported The Gurkha Centre who attended The Gurkha Cup in Aldershot on Sunday 28th May. The stall raised a fantastic £1392 for the charity. Well done to everybody involved!
Bruno Coppola wrote in his nomination: "Andy considers everybody’s welfare and employs strategies to support his colleagues, tenants and visitors daily. The impact of these behaviours is immeasurable, and we all really appreciate having Andy on our team."

Well done to Steve Iles, who completed the Half Marathon for The Lexicon Charity fund, which is managed by the Berkshire Community Foundation which connects local people to local causes. Along with his colleagues he raised over £3,000!
The team at Liverpool John Lennon Airport donated items to the Rescue, who were able to sell them and raise over £1000 to help pay for vet bills. Thank you team!
The ABM team completed the Cumbrian Challenge to raise money for the charity; Bobby Thomson-O'Connor, Victoria Scaramuzza, Natalia Gaviria-Guevara, Joe Casey, Vaiva Numgaudyte, Horea Lazar, Michael Denning, Peter Coates, Steve Iles, Jay Augis Kazlauskas, David Donovan, John McPherson, Nicolas Nothard and Goose the dog.
The team had a busy April, with 3 people completing their IOSH course, and the wider team supporting the Easter Train. Alex Welch & Lennox James were named Employee of the Month and the mystery shopper result was a fantastic 94.7%!
Daniel Davis, General Manager, said: "This is an absolutely fantastic result for all involved and testament to the hard work and determination by every one of us to ensure we deliver an absolutely first class customer experience". Well done team!

The EarthPro range is made using recycled plastic which has been diverted from landfill and is certified to the Global Recycled Standard. Each polo shirt uses approx. 8 x 1L Plastic Bottles, whilst each Fleece uses approx. 15. Pictured is the team at St James in their uniform.

The whole range is made from plastic bottles and so far, 3,159,435 (and rising) bottles have been saved from going into landfill sites.
The ABM team at Castlepoint Shopping Centre set up a food pantry and book swap in October 2022. This has been received well by the team. Well done to the everybody involved for launching this excellent initiative!

Ahmed noticed a woman undressing and walking into the Thames with the intention of ending her life. Ahmed called out and immediately raised the alarm. Thanks to his quick actions, the emergency services were called, and they pulled the lady out of the river. Ahmed's quick thinking led to the woman being saved.
Glasgow Fort received its QHSE Audit Certificate for achieving Gold for high standards of team safety and compliance.
